Webinar 1 – Presenters – Prof. Chris Matthews and Dr Caty Morris

In this introductory session to ATSIMA’s 2022 Learning Series, Chris Matthews and Caty Morris introduce the new 90+ content elaborations in the revised Australian Curriculum: Mathematics that support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority. These elaborations tell narratives across the year levels and strands of the maths curriculum and are based on 9 rich First Nations Australian contexts. Through the elaborations, these cultural contexts provide a wealth of maths situations that connect to the mandatory part of the AC:M and offer valuable opportunities for educators to contextualise or localise learning.
