ATSIMA Leadership Schools
The ATSIMA leadership schools program partners with school communities to develop, implement and lead effective teaching and learning in culturally responsive mathematics education.
The program supports school communities to:
- Overcome teachers’ fear to teach mathematics through culture
- Make connections between the school and local Indigenous Communities to explore connections between culture and mathematics and how these can be developed, applied and implemented in the school
- Train educators in teaching mathematics from a cultural perspective
- Develop school leaders and educators to transform their school’s mathematics education program
- Develop localised resource banks
- Lead, influence and support other school communities to implement culturally responsive mathematics education programs
