ATSIMA is transforming mathematics education.
ATSIMA programs support mathematics teaching and learning that empowers, motivates and inspires Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander learners with a focus on connecting mathematics with culture.
ATSIMA’s four initiatives are:
Initiative 1
Professional Learning – improving educator capability in culturally responsive mathematics education and scaled up through a Train the Trainer program.
Initiative 2
Culturally Responsive Mathematics Resources – supporting educators to implement Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures content through teaching and learning.
Initiative 3
Leadership Schools – supporting clusters of connected schools that are making a difference.
Initiative 4
STEM Camp – focussing on mathematics and STEM as a career pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander learners.
