Professional Learning
About ATSIMA’s professional learning
Educators across Australia are seeking meaningful ways to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures with mathematics to improve outcomes for learners. ABORIGINAL AND TORRES ISLANDER HISTORIES AND CULTURES IN THE AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM: MATHEMATICS
ATSIMA offers half day and full day workshops in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority in the mathematics curriculum.
The Australian Curriculum: Mathematics includes over 90 content elaborations aligned to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority. Each elaboration is connected to a Rich Context, weaving meaningful narratives across the six mathematics strands and from Foundation to Year 10. These contexts reflect the three key concepts of People, Culture and Country/Place.
