Vale Prof. Peter Buckskin

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our great friend and colleague Prof. Peter Buckskin. Peter was a Powerhouse in Aboriginal education across the nation for decades, and we were privileged to know him and work with him.

We will remember Peter as a loyal, caring, passionate and formidable man who kept us focussed and motivated, told us off when we needed it, and fought the fight with us.

He was a strong advocate and supporter of our work at ATSIMA and our vision that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners are successful in mathematics.

He has left an indelible mark on our lives and our work, and we will never forget him as his legacy will live on through what we do to improve learning conditions and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across Australia.

From his early trailblazing days in South Australia, to his strong advocacy of our ATSIMA work, we will be forever grateful to him.

Rest in peace good friend.
