ATSIMA is working on a pilot project funded by the Toyota Community Trust that will develop a teacher’s resource one part for primary years and one part for high schools. There will be two elements to each part: a unit of learning incorporating Prof. Chris Matthews’ Goompi Model, and content from the revised Australian Curriculum: Mathematics. Each will have an accompanying problem solving task for students. ATSIMA is working with two Victorian schools – Heathmont College and Brookside College. Dr Caty Morris is the Project Lead. Recently Caty visited the Toyota Centre of Excellence in Altona, Melbourne with other beneficiaries. Do you think she likes standing out in the crowd?
